EMERGENCY MEDICINE ULTRASOUND COURSE OBJECTIVES

 

COURSE DESCRIPTION

Designed by emergency physicians to meet the specific education needs of emergency physicians who want to learn Ultrasound technology.

 

 

OBJECTIVES

·         Gain a basic understanding of the physics and instrumentation of Ultrasound

·         Examine the advantages and indications for  the implementation of trauma ultrasound into clinical practice

·         Perform hands-on scanning of live models to enhance technical proficiency for the diagnosis of normal and abnormal clinical conditions

Advanced Emergency Medicine Ultrasound Course

COURSE DESCRIPTION

Designed by Emergency Physicians to meet the specific education needs of Emergency Physicians who want to obtain further training in Ultrasound technology.

 

OBJECTIVES

·         Obtain further training in the use of bedside US to assist in the performance of ED procedures

 

·         Examine the advantages and indications for the implementation of cardiac, ocular and musculoskeletal ultrasound into clinical practice

 

·         Discuss political issues surrounding the use of ultrasound in the Emergency Department and provide information regarding billing and credentialing

 

·         Perform hands-on scanning of live models to enhance technical proficiency for the diagnosis of normal and abnormal clinical conditions

 

COURSE HIGHLIGHTS

·         Live Models with hands-on scanning

·         Enhance technical proficiency

·         3 Hours of actual scan time in small group setting

·         Exposure to multiple ultrasound machines
