EMRAM host two events annually.
In-Training Review Course
Virtual Conference
The EMRAM In-Training Review Course began in 2004 as an annual preparatory course designed for residents to review core topics in Emergency Medicine prior to the in-service exam.
The format is designed to address scenario-based questions similar to the in-service and board format of “the next most appropriate action” type question. Speakers are selected for their areas of expertise and teaching ability. Featured speakers represent several residency programs throughout the state. Attendance has exceeded 250 residents in the past representing emergency medicine residency programs across the State of Michigan.
Annual feedback for this review course has been outstanding. Both Allopathic and Osteopathic residents will benefit from attending this review.

SIMWARS
May, 14 2025
Western Michigan University
Kalamazoo, MI
Residents statewide will participate in a full day of EMRAM SIMWARS, which is an interactive simulation competition that allows teams of four residents to compete against other residency programs on simulated patient encounters. An expert panel will judge each team’s performance in areas such as teamwork, communication, and leadership as well as medical management of the “patient”.
