Virtual Meeting – March 31, 2022 


Wayne State University Department of Emergency Medicine in partnership with the Michigan College of Emergency Physicians is sponsoring the 11th installment of the Critical Care Practice in the Emergency Department Conference.

The objective of this conference is to provide high level information concerning the management of critically ill patients.

This year’s virtual Critical Care Conference will take place on Thursday, March 31, 2022.  The curriculum will include leaders in medicine from William Beaumont, the University of Michigan, Henry Ford Hospital, Wayne State University and the Medical College of Wisconsin.  Previous attendees have described this conference as a “can’t miss” event for physicians and residents caring for critically ill patients.

Optional Mechanical Ventilator Workshop – 3/30/22 – CANCELLED

Emergency physicians are the first physicians to care for the critically ill and proficiency with managing respiratory failure is a key skill needed for day-to-day practice. Join Emergency/Critical Care experts in mechanical ventilation to elevate your skills.  In this unique workshop, participants will:

  • Learn the “knobology” of mechanical ventilation.
  • Learn how to set initial ventilator parameters.
  • Learn how to choose mode and ventilator settings for specific conditions.
  • Learn how to troubleshoot patient-ventilator emergencies

This workshop will combine formal didactic lecture as well as live interactive cases on ventilator management. Space is limited to 24 participants. Sign up soon!   The fee for the workshop is $75 in addition to the conference registration fee.
